Q: What olive oil should I buy?
A: All of our extra virgin olive oil is the same. We only carry one type of olive oil—our family’s signature Monocultivar Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Even our flavored oils start with the same exact oil; we simply add all-natural flavors that are shipped in from Italy.

Q: It says you’re located in Tampa, Florida. Are your products from Italy or the U.S.?
A: Yes—all of our products are from Italy. We import our very own family Monocultivar Extra Virgin Olive Oil directly from our family oil mill in Montesarchio, Italy (meaning there is no middleman—it comes straight from our farm). This also means we only use one type of olive, the Peranzana, for an exceptional EVOO you can’t find anywhere else.
Our bottles are hand-painted in the small town of Vietri sul Mare, Italy, then shipped to our warehouse in Tampa, FL. We ship from the United States so your order gets to you quickly and efficiently.
order gets to you quickly and efficiently.

Q: Will I incur in other charges, such as tariffs, after purchasing?

A: The amount you see at checkout it's exactly what you're going to pay. We don't have/charge extra or hidden fees. Additionally, we ship out from Tampa, FL. If a courier will ever ask you for extra fees, be sure it's not us and be aware that it could be a scam.

Q: Why does it take so long to receive my order?
A: We are a small family business, not a large corporation like Amazon. Each bottle is freshly filled per order and carefully packed; then it’s shipped in the same order we receive them. During the holidays, shipping can take a bit longer due to the high volume of orders and/or because of delays or cancellations of flights from Italy due to peak season (yes! We import everything via air freight). The normal time to ship out an order is between 4 to 8 business days, but usually we are able to give your package to the courier in 2-3 days.

Q: How come my order arrived damaged?
A: We carefully pack your order with bubble wrap, cardboard pads, packing paper and finally by placing foam pads inside the boxes. Unfortunately, accidents happen in transit; once we give a package to the courier we have no control over it. We encourage you to purchase, for a little extra, our package protection plans called Route, which allows you (or us on your behalf) to file a claim and get approved the same day. If you receive a damaged item, please contact us immediately at info@shopcostiera.com. Please refer to our Shipping and Return Policy here.

Q: What is your polyphenol count?
A: Our olive oil was, for the current harvest, tested at 1300 mg/kg (an extremely high polyphenol count!). It’s important to know that polyphenols are strongest when olive oil is freshly harvested—and unlike wine, olive oil does not get better with age. Polyphenols naturally deplete over time, which is why we focus on providing the freshest batches of EVOO possible and keep it in air-tight containers until we bottle for you.

Q: There isn’t a harvest date on my tin—when was this harvested?
A: You will always be purchasing the most recent harvest from us. For example, if you buy in November, your olive oil was likely pressed that same month. If you purchase in December or January, it was probably pressed just weeks before, since this is our harvest season.
The Olive Oil does not expire. Based on how you store it, you can keep using it after years. We suggest to use our Monocultivar Peranzana EVOO within 18 months from the opening, to preserve all its health benefits.
We airfreight our olive oil in air-tight containers directly to ourselves to ensure you’re getting the absolute freshest batch possible. Because there is no middleman, we don’t print harvest dates like larger corporations that may be selling older inventory.

Q: Are you coming out with any new towns and designs?
A: We’re always working on new products and designs to keep things fresh and exciting for you. That said, what you currently see on our site is all that’s available right now. These bottles take time to create, and we have to limit the number of designs to streamline our artists’ work in Italy. The best way to stay in the loop is to join our newsletter for the latest updates and product releases.

Q: The spout doesn’t fit the bottle. How come?
A: Please keep in mind: these bottles are HANDCRAFTED. That means that people make them by hand and sometimes, with a very low probability, the diameter of the bottle rim is a little too narrow and the spout doesn't fit properly. If this is the case, please contact us at info@shopcostiera.com.

Q: The bottle has some spots on it, why?
A: Again, please keep in mind that these bottles are HANDCRAFTED. Every bottle is different from another. It's normal to see a small imperfection in the bottle or the design; this shows that they were made and decorated by hand, making them unique.

Q: Why does the oil spills out of the tin?
A: When you pour oil from the can, it often splashes and gushes out, and this is due to the air pressure that builds up inside. To avoid this inconvenience, here's a tip: carefully, and making sure not to injure yourself, create a tiny hole on the opposite side of the cap, on the top of the can. This will allow the air to escape and you won't have any spills.

Q: I can’t open the cap of the tin, any help?
A: All the tin’s caps we use have two side plastic tabs. Grab those tabs and lift them up; then pull upwards both tabs simultaneously, without unscrewing the cap yet. You will see that the cap extends, creating a kind of spout. Once you've done this, unscrew the cap normally and start using the product.

Q: Can I return a product?
A: Due to the nature of the products, we regret to inform you that we do not offer refunds or returns. All sales are final. Please refer to our Shipping and Return Policy here.
